Truckee Cultural District Announces 2026 Mini-Grants for Artists!
Truckee, CA—May, 22, 2026: The Truckee Cultural District is pleased to announce that this year’s Cultural District Mini-Grants are now open. Individual artists seeking support for 2026 projects and/or events that are aligned with the goals of the Truckee Cultural District are invited to submit an application. Requests can be made for up to $1,000 for individual artists, applications for funding will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis until June 30, 2026.
“These funds are part of the Truckee Cultural District budget, through one time funding from California Arts Council. With close to $40,000 distributed to date through our Mini-Grants Program, we are prioritizing continued investment in our local artists and the impact it has on our community identity, wellbeing and vibrancy,” shares Kellie Cutler, Truckee Cultural District Program Manager. “With an additional $14,000 being re-granted to the artists of the Truckee Cultural District we are proud of the direct impact the Cultural District can have in support of our artists, our creative economy and small business community.”
Eliza Tudor, Executive Director at Nevada County Arts & Culture says: “As this one-time state investment comes to a close, we are choosing to place resources where they can continue to have immediate and meaningful impact—directly in the hands of artists. These mini-grants recognize artists as essential contributors to Truckee’s cultural life, local economy, and sense of place. Even modest investments can help ideas take root, bring people together, and strengthen the creative fabric of the Truckee Cultural District.”
To be eligible artists must either live, work and/or serve the Truckee Cultural District community and funded events must be within the Truckee Cultural District/Town of Truckee/Nevada County geographic boundaries. Applicants must also demonstrate a professional track record within the community. All disciplines are encouraged to apply including but not limited to: actors, choreographers, costumers, craftspeople, curators, dancers, designers, directors, exhibit designers/fabricators, musicians, poets, stage technicians, visual artists, writers and others employed in art and culture professions.
Applications are open now through June 30, 2026 or until funds are completely distributed. To learn more about the Truckee Cultural District Mini-Grants Program, visit nevadacountyarts.org.
