Nevada County Arts & Culture unveils new brand…

NEVADA CITY, CA, June 12, 2026—Nevada County Arts Council has formally introduced its new public name, Nevada County Arts & Culture, along with a refreshed visual identity designed to better reflect the organization’s expanding role in Nevada County’s creative and civic life.

The brand refresh follows the launch of Culture Forward 2026–2032: Nevada County’s Arts & Culture Action Plan, the completion of the organization’s new Strategic Framework 2026–2032, and a period of board and staff deliberation about how the organization’s name, mission, programs, and public-facing communications should align for the years ahead.

“This is more than a new look,” said Eliza Tudor, Executive Director at Nevada County Arts & Culture. “It is a clearer expression of who we have become and the role we are being called to play. Nevada County Arts & Culture now serves as a countywide cultural infrastructure organization—supporting artists, stewarding two California Cultural Districts, strengthening visibility systems, convening partners, and helping carry Culture Forward into implementation. In the weeks ahead, our website will reflect this clarity, as we continue to refine content and navigation so that artists, partners, residents, and visitors can more easily find and use the resources we provide.”

The new identity was developed in collaboration with Kevin Byrd, an interdisciplinary artist and creative director with enduring ties to Nevada County. His work with Nevada County Arts & Culture grew out of a staff and board process focused on mission clarity, brand architecture, public accessibility, and the organization’s next phase of countywide cultural stewardship.

The refreshed brand system establishes a simpler and more consistent visual framework across Nevada County Arts & Culture’s programs, initiatives, Cultural Districts, publications, and partnerships. Its purpose is to reduce visual complexity, make the organization more legible as a curator, connector, and steward, and create flexible systems that can scale without constant reinvention.

The organization’s Strategic Framework describes Nevada County Arts & Culture’s transition from a program-centered arts council model toward a regional cultural systems organization coordinating artist services, California Cultural District stewardship, cultural visibility infrastructure, municipal partnerships, destination-aligned communications, and creative workforce development.

As Nevada County’s county-designated arts agency and the California Arts Council’s State-Local Partner, Nevada County Arts & Culture serves all five Supervisorial Districts. Its work includes stewardship of the Grass Valley–Nevada City Cultural District and Truckee Cultural District; publication of MUSE | A Local Guide to Arts & Culture; management of the Community Arts Calendar, Calls to Artists listings, artist directories, and Cultural Asset Map; and programs that support artists, creative workers, educators, municipalities, businesses, residents, and visitors.

The organization’s mission is to advance a thriving, inclusive, and regionally connected cultural ecosystem by supporting artists, strengthening community participation in the arts, and coordinating cultural infrastructure across Nevada County.

The refreshed name and identity will appear gradually across Nevada County Arts & Culture’s website, newsletters, social media, publications, program materials, Cultural District communications, and partner-facing platforms.
