Year of Advanced Music Appreciation

Nevada City's Mayor, Adam Kline, declared July 2025 to June 2026 to be the Year of Advanced Music Appreciation. Mayor Kline proclaimed that "Nevada City, nestled in the foothills of Sierra Nevada has a rich history of music, musicians, and musical venues. What makes music amazing in Nevada City is the unique and eclectic combination of music, the people that create it, and the places they play."

Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that address a broad interpretation of the theme of "Year of Advanced Music Appreciation". From favorite lyrics to local legends, let music move your art. 

Artists can submit multiple pieces for consideration in several different categories including 2-D paintings, prints, collages, mixed media, photography, and panels. Pieces can be for sale and an artist's contact info and price will be displayed next to the piece if desired.

The exhibition will be installed the first week of January 2026 and on display through the end of April 2026.
