Nevada County Arts Council acknowledges that the original inhabitants of territories now known as Nevada County continue to be home to indigenous peoples. Generations of Washoe and Nisenan tribal communities, east and west, shared boundaries with Maidu peoples and developed deep understandings of these lands.
