By Hand 2025 - An International Craft Nouveau Competition
By Hand and the term "Craft Nouveau" embodies the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and innovative design, where the human touch transforms raw materials into exceptional works of art. This competition honors the skill and artistry of those who elevate everyday objects into meaningful, functional masterpieces. Each piece tells a story—one that celebrates folk traditions while pushing the boundaries of the medium to reflect the artist’s unique vision.
Guest Juror: We are thrilled to welcome Harriete Estel Berman as the juror for this year’s By Hand – An International Craft Nouveau Competition. Berman is a distinguished artist whose work spans jewelry and sculpture, all crafted with post-consumer recycled materials. Her art offers powerful social commentary on issues such as the role of women, consumerism, environmental challenges, and the impact of modern advertising.
