what is the artist & gallery guide?
Our 2018 - 2019 annual Nevada County Artist and Gallery Guide is out. It highlights Nevada County as the premier visual arts destination in the Sierra Nevada foothills and Truckee-Tahoe region and reflects the county’s unique position as the only rural county statewide with two California Cultural District designations. In the year to come 7,500 hard copies will be distributed to locations across Nevada County and beyond, including San Francisco, Sacramento, Chico, and Reno, with a web version and an infinite online distribution.
We want Nevada County’s already rich visual arts community to be recognized, and to further thrive. We are starting small – our priority being to build a strong visual arts family. Throughout the coming year year we will be working closely with our artist participants to refine our guide’s look, feel and content for the coming years.

how it works
The Guide is reserved for new and renewing Nevada County Arts Council visual art members and features insightful editorial, inspiring art and photography, and will include a companion online edition.
The Guide is designed much like a museum directory or exhibition guide that art buyers are familiar with and that will serve to reinforce our visual arts community as "world class." It is targeted to locals and visitors alike to introduce them to your art.
In addition to artist and gallery listings, the Guide includes magazine-style articles and editorial about the local visual arts scene, the history of the arts in Nevada County, upcoming arts events, and more. The Guide has a targeted regional distribution – from Reno, to Sacramento, to San Francisco, to Chico, to Jackson and points in between - and is restocked quarterly for a full year.
