Happy holiday season, Truckee! As we move into December, we encourage you to shop local while checking off your gift lists. From galleries featuring local talent to our mountain town shops and restaurants, there are unique finds waiting around every corner, and when in doubt, a gift card is always a win and still supports local business owners.

Giving Tuesday arrives on December 2 through the end of the month! Give Back Tahoe’s annual campaign features countless local and regional nonprofits that support arts and culture, including our very own Truckee Tahoe Arts Alliance, so it is a perfect time to give where your heart is. |

You can also support our work through the Truckee Cultural District by making a tax-deductable donation directly to Nevada County Arts Council. We invite you to support our mission uplifiting Truckee and Nevada County’s artists, students, teachers, venues, and organizations on this special day and beyond! |

And in truly exciting news, Measure G passed with 71.6 percent voter support. That means 71.6 percent of our community said YES to building a new Truckee Library. This milestone secures about 43 percent of the project’s funding and signals powerful momentum toward the library our community deserves. Our cultural landscape continues to grow with several new businesses opening their doors last month, including The Alchemy Space on West River Street, AlpenSwing downtown on Church Street, and Truckee Teas and Slime Kitchen on Donner Pass Road. The monthly Truckee Art Walks also kept the creative energy flowing, and the next one is this Saturday, December 6. Looking ahead, December is filled with festive performances, community celebrations, and holiday events featured below. We hope you will get out, enjoy the season, and support the artists, businesses and organizations that make our Cultural District shine.
