GVNC: What is your medium?

Lincoln: I teach acrylic, and mixed media.

GVNC: At what point in your life did you realize your calling?

Lincoln: When I was in college, my favorite art instructor told me NOT to teach. He said I had "it" and that I could be successful as an artist. I understood what he was telling me, but I knew that the gift needed to be shared. I give the love, energy and passion to others. The calling was always there, I was sixteen when I started teaching.

GVNC: Tell us about your creative process.

Lincoln: It may sound cheesy, but I usually see something in slumber and try to recreate it upon waking. It always looks much better in the dream. I also do studies constantly, to keep challenging myself and to test new materials. I don't like to be stuck on any medium, but I find myself falling back on acrylic often. I also write terrible poetry when I am overwhelmed, and try to work from that.

GVNC: Name two Nevada county artists you admire and why.

Lincoln: I admire Cory Norris, a tattoo artist I've known since high school. He has been diligently mastering his craft for as long as I can remember. The other artist is a writer, Julia Park Tracy, who captured my heart with her book, Silence. It was a historical fiction based on a relative of hers.

GVNC: Tell us more about what events are coming up for you?

Lincoln: I host art parties and gatherings for artists. We create and "play" with peers. Artists and adults that wish to learn have a safe place to create and experiment with materials at a low cost. It's an environment dedicated to exploration. Classes and workshops are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
